As part of our Rural Revitalization project, we have been renovating and upgrading a nearby motel, which can provide accommodations for guests at Abrams Creek Center who need more spacious or more private accommodations. The Mountaineer Motel is also on US Route 50, 3 miles (5 minutes by car) from our retreat center.
Renovations so far include installing geothermal heat and cooling, a tankless water heater for unlimited hot water, upgrading the beds and furnishings, providing phones and WiFi Internet, and countless repairs, upgrades, and general maintenance. Some rooms also have murals painted by George Page, a recent artist-in-residence. A total of 8 rooms are currently available.
